MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Tourism has sought clarification from the Government Office Corporate Council (GOCC) on the minimum 5-hectare size requirement for tourism economic zones (TEZ) which could pave the way for a vertical application of the said requirement from the usual horizontal developments.
Joy Bulauitan, assistant chief operating officer of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), said the GOCC opinion would help clear the rules in light of many inquiries for investments in tourism ecozone enterprises.
