MANILA, Philippines – Blackwater Sports clinched a quarterfinal berth with a 106-82 win over the hapless Cagayan side in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the San Juan gym.
Fil-Am guard AJ Mandani sizzled early by scoring 13 of his team-high 18 points while Kelly Nabong, Jeric Fortuna and Clark Bautista also shone as the Elite ended a two-game losing skid.
With the win, Blackwater, owned by Dioceldo Sy, improved to 5-3 for at least a share of third place with idle Big Chill.
It also sealed the Rising Suns ultimate fate in the season-ending conference.
